The Raffia is a species of raffia palm. It can grow to 20m (60ft) high with thin, long leaves. It blooms and reproduces before dying, it grows only in Madagascar. Its leaves, dried up, are manufactured and colored to be used to make baskets, hats, mats, belts, curtains, bags and other traditional objects.
